Important to note!
- The cottage sleeps up to 6 people, but the 3rd bedroom is in the loft which has a very low door and ceiling height – it is of course up to you, but we can only officially recommend children for that room.
- Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome, but please be aware that we are adjacent to farmland with sheep and cattle, and it is imperative your dog is under control.
- Guests share the garden with the owners, and it is very likely you will bump into us, our two children and our very friendly dog.
- There is a fairly busy A-road next to the grounds. The cottage is set far back from it, and it is out of view – but please be careful if you decide to venture that way beyond the grounds.
Outdoor area
To the rear of Stable Cottage, overlooking the wood and the field, is a secluded seating area complete with dining table and benches, recliners, firepit, wood-fired pizza oven and grill, and a wood-fired bath.
Sit, cook, eat, play, chill.
Wood-fired outdoor bath
We have a Hikki wood-fired 'Bohemen' bath in your outside space that you are welcome to use. We can even even fill it and have it lit and heated for your arrival! This does cost £50, as it takes some time, a fair amount of wood, and fire-tending to achieve this. Alternatively you can bring your own wood (dry, seasoned logs only please!). Or we can supply you with a fire-making kit of x1 bag of excellent quality Latvian kiln-dried birch with eco firelighters and matches, which costs £20, and you are welcome to light the bath yourself.
Wood-fired pizza oven & grill
The Hikki 'Faster Greta' is a pizza oven / grill / fireplace all in one. Similar to the bath, you are welcome to bring your own logs (dry, seasoned only please), or we can provide a fire-making kit for £20. If you'd like to make your own wood-fired pizzas, we can supply a pack of Northern Dough Co pizza dough, which makes x2 12" pizzas - for £3.20 per pack.
Firepit
Sit around and toast marshmallows and sausages. Or just chill out on the outdoor seats and enjoy the air, the crackle and a drink.
Same as the bath and the pizza oven - you are welcome to bring your own log (dry and seasoned only) or we can supply a fire-making kit for £20.
We have some toasting forks, and can also get you some marshmallows in advance, if you let us know.

The garden & grounds
There is plenty of outdoor space to roam about in at Stable Cottage. As well as the private outdoor area behind the cottage, there is a walled garden, a large front lawn, small wood, drying green, and a field. Guests are welcome to wander about as they wish, along with their dogs.
The field is a good space to stretch your legs and let dogs off the lead if you wish.
The only area we ask to keep private is the seating area next to the main house.
Free on-site parking for up to two cars.
Dogs
Up to two well-behaved, house-trained dogs are welcome at Stable Cottage. You are welcome to let dogs out in the gardens - and also in the field, which is fairly secure.
Please be aware there is a working farm next door with sheep and cows, therefore dogs should be kept on a lead if necessary. It is absolutely imperative that dogs should not venture further than our garden and field boundary.
We do not charge extra for dogs, but a charge may be made should any additional cleaning (over and above the usual) be required at the end of your stay. Please try to keep your dogs off the furniture and do not let your dog scratch or chew any furnishings or fittings at the cottage - and please do not leave them unattended at any time.
We have a dog and young children who will be sharing the grounds with you, therefore we cannot accept any aggressive or dangerous dogs.
Please inform us when booking if you intend to bring any dogs, and please clean up after your dog.

We are on the A811 Stirling Road between Balloch and Gartocharn.
We will send better directions when you book.
Loch Lomond is over the hill, just over a mile as the crow flies, and very accessible from many different points a short drive away.
